Whoopsie...

Well now it appears as though I haven't posted anything here in an extremely long time!  Holy cow, how does that happen?  I know it had been a while but APRIL!!??  Certainly I've tried new recipes & gadgets since then... geez, what a slacker I am!  But in my defense, I moved in August and now my internet time is VERY limited so that's part of the lack of posting but what about the 4 months prior... ??

So let me just sound off about a little sumpin to get this blog restarted... are you ready to rumble!?

At the end of August I took Baby Girl school shoppin for some new clothes... she was starting in a new school, one that doesn't require uniforms like her last school, so she pretty much needed a whole new wardrobe - yeah, that's not happening in one shopping trip!

Can I just say, I was a little disgruntled with the attire I found available for her age group of 5-6 yr olds.  I thought I had traveled back in time to the 80s!!  Don't get me wrong... I absolutely LOVE the 80s and I love Madonna, but I don't need my 5 yr old dressing like her!  Then there's this issue of sizing... Baby Girl is NOT FAT by any means, she's just a normal sized kid.  But when looking for jeans and pants all we found were skinny and SUPER skinny jeans.  Really?  As if the damn skinny jeans weren't enough now we have SUPER skinny jeans?  Where the flip do these merchandise buyers live?  Don't they read?  America is the fattest country in the world and Michigan is #5 in the top 10 of fattest states in America!!!  With that being said, you'd think it wouldn't be so hard to find NORMAL size clothes for a 5 yr old!!  So as it goes, our day of shopping was futile and we continue to dig through the skinny's looking and praying for normal sized clothing... funny how all that's left are "skinny" clothing - hint hint... if all you have left are skinny jeans, you may want to rethink your buying strategies and stock up on more normal sized clothing.

Cinnabon Delights...

I’ve spent the week preparing for a new lifestyle of clean eating, researching, making lists etc… then Friday happened.   Usually the best day of the week right?   Still is, but let me tell ya – today was a bitch.   A bitch in heat.   Seemed no matter what I did, I was gonna get screwed… definitely was not a productive day. It started out with not having enough time to put together my lunch… something that will be changing with this new healthy lifestyle adventure.   So you know what that means… make a run for the border.   So the three musketeers piled in the car and away we went… As we stood there gazing at the menu I thought this would be a good time to try something new… so I got the same thing I always do. ;-)    My go to meal at Taco Bell is known as the T6 around these here parts… beef please, or at least as much beef as the FDA will allow you to get away with before throwing other non-beef crap in there.   So the usual 2 gorditas and a crunchy taco it was… which alwa

Zoom Zoom Zumba!

I had the opportunity to try something tonight that I’ve been wanting to do for months now – Zumba!  It was a tossup between that and Jazzercise, which I’m thinking are fairly closely related. ZUMBA is a trade name for a dance fitness program created by dancer and choreographer Perez in Colombia during the 1990s. The program combines Latin and international music with dance in an effort to make exercise fun. (Thanks Wikipedia)  So how did I like it?  Well…. Let’s clear the air right now, it was fun & I liked it… that’s it, plain and simple.  You won’t ever hear or see me get excited about anything that makes me move for 50 minutes straight, sweat like a pig and smell like one too!  Whether it is Zumba, Jazzercise, moving furniture etc… it’s just not going to make me jump up and down and say WooHoo!  But it’s necessary… if I want to get my old svelte pole dancing body back, I must exercise, and I must sweat in the process… It’s just one of those things you don’t want to do but ha
