I'm baaaaack!

I know I know... where in the world have I been... I been busy.  Life over the last couple of years has been an absolute mess, physically, mentally and emotionally.  But guess what... I'm back and I have good news to share! So with all the roller coastering the last couple of years my weight has gone up and up, back down a little then back up but never once was I able to gt back under 300 pounds no matter how hard I tried.  Well back in March I came across a post on Facebook about this amazing weight loss supplement... now I've been a big girl my entire life and have tried pretty much everything, and I mean EVERYTHING!!  So you can imagine I was a bit skeptical... I did my usual research and since they offered an affordable trial package, I went for it just to see how it'd work for me. I'm not even kidding here... in less than 3 weeks I was back in the 200's!! I was on cloud nine, beyond ecstatic.  I'm I'm still down, my scale doesn't move much right...

Battle of the Bulge

Being overweight has been a life long battle for me... I think I first joined Weight Watchers when I was 14!  I think I've tried every weight loss "method" known to man... grapefruit pills, Weight Watchers, cabbage soup, various prescribed meds, Atkins, slim fast, paleo, just to name a few... after years of yo-yo dieting I had finally figured out it's more about just eating healthy... but what's healthy? Seriously!  What's healthy anymore?  Eggs are bad for you, then they're good, then only the whites are good... butter is bad, you should use margarine instead... oh wait, butter is actually better for you and that other stuff is about 2 molecules away from becoming plastic.  WHAT!?  Oh sure, we've gotten lazier over the years as those handy inventions have come along to make things easier but how are we supposed to know what's truly healthy when doctors keep changing their minds?  Just look at Dr. Oz... great guy right?  I'm sure he's a v...

Southwestern Salad & Creamy Cilantro Lime Dressing

I came across this salad "recipe" and had to try it, mainly because of the dressing.  I absolutely love cilantro.  The recipe called for an orange bell pepper but the store I was gathering supplies from didn't have any at the time so I went with red and it all worked just the same. So I cut up a head of romaine lettuce, half a red bell pepper, a half can of drained and rinsed black beans, 5 chopped green onions, maybe a cup or two of thawed frozen corn and a mini pack of cherry tomatoes also chopped.  Put them all in a bowl like this... For the Creamy Cilantro Lime  dressing, I took about a cup of plain Greek yogurt, half a bunch of cilantro without stems, lime juice, garlic, olive oil, cider vinegar, and a pinch of salt and blended it in my wonderful Magic Bullet.   Most recipes I've seen for this calls for white vinegar... I like to live large and used apple cider vinegar instead.  Really I'm just cheap, already had the apple cider and didn't...

No Shit!

I know I know, what an abrasively harsh title right?  But it's true, like I said yesterday - I'm not full of shit!  So here we are on day 3 of this 5 day cleanse and nothing's happening... quite the opposite actually.  I'm normally quite regular and the last couple of days its been minimal if anything at all.  That can't be good can it?  I suppose on the bright side, I wasn't feeling bloated or weighed down either.  Well today started out just like the other 2, with the exception that I had it in my mind that today I was going to eat - and oh boy did I eat! Seriously, if you think about it... if you're not putting anything in, than nothing's going to come out, right?  Right!  Thus the theory that I just wasn't and am not full of do do.  I mean I was putting a LOT of fiber into my body, you'd think SOMETHING would be just a rollin' out of me.  I'm talking about 40+ grams of fiber a day!  To my knowledge women over 30 should be ge...

Cleansing ~ Day 2

Still going strong and doing better than I thought I would... of course I've also been keeping myself busy so I haven't exactly had time to think about food.  There was however at one point where I did indulge in some beef jerky - what?  How do you pass up jerky?  To me, it's better than cake! Seriously though, I've been following this plan and doing what it says and honestly - I'm just not seeing the results I thought I would by now.  Or just maybe, contrary to what most believe... I'm just not full of shit!!  hahahaha  I know this is going to get a tad TMI, so walk away now if ya can't handle it... With any detox or cleansing program I personally am lead to believe that you'll be spending a lot of time running to the pooper.  Not so... at least not yet, and not for me.  Seriously, I thought I'd be having the poops or at the very least, needing to blow the toilet up more than normal.  Turns out it's quite the opposite... Another Sinday Confession... PSYCH!

Here we are back to Sunday again and I'm due for another Sinday Confession... Sinday Confession...

It’s time for Sinday Confessional… yes I realize it’s not Sunday but someone was being a computer hog yesterday and since they were also folding laundry at the same time, I thought it best not to disrupt him.   So here we are, now let’s get down to business! One day while grocery shopping I saw that they had chicken in a can and thought ewww, then thought about salmon in a can, again ewww.   I was completely grossed out without even giving it a chance… just the thought of it gave me the heebie jeebies.   Wellll… this busy working mom of 2 was finding that trying to eat healthy, make actual meals for dinner etc. was just becoming a pain in the rear and an easier way had to be found… after thinking about it and how I eat tuna & spam and how they come from a can, why not give chicken a chance.   So here’s my Sinday Confession… I eat chicken from a can, and I like it!   I almost always use it where I can now in place of having to thaw and cook and actual chic...

Yes, I know I said I was going to be better about blogging my weight loss adventure this time... well I'm going to say it again, so what about it?  I've decided to blog about new healthy recipes that I'm finding & trying and maybe even a line or two here and there about how that darn workout just kicked my butt! The thing I can't decide on though... do I share the recipes as I found them, or as I made them?  If you've spent any large amount of time around me in the last 10-12ish year you'll know that I don't to often follow recipes to the "T" - I use them as a guide and go from there, making everything to taste and rarely measuring a thing... unless it has to do with baking of course.  A lot of my improvising is due to not having a certain product or not wanting to spend top dollar for an ingredient I'll likely use just once.
